Aelyra, known as the Skyshriek Sovereign, is described in fan-compiled Valyrian religious traditions as a divine dragon-form governing the upper atmosphere, celestial observation, and the structured navigation of aerial routes. Unlike deities associated with terrestrial domains or maritime systems, Aelyra’s authority is positioned above both, operating within the highest layers of the sky where flight transitions from environment to system.

The physical form attributed to Aelyra reflects specialization for high-altitude operation. She is described as a colossal dragon with a wingspan of approximately 632 feet, her structure optimized for sustained ascent and controlled gliding within thin atmospheric conditions. Her wing membranes are pale-azure in coloration, often described as blending into upper sky haze, reducing visual contrast at altitude. Her eyes are characterized by star-flecked pupils, interpreted as symbolic of her domain over celestial mapping.

Aelyra’s movement is associated with the formation of persistent atmospheric trails, described as contrail-like wisps that follow her path during extended climbs or turns. These trails are interpreted as both physical phenomena and navigational markers, reinforcing her role in defining and maintaining structured flight corridors across the sky.

Her vocalization is described as a high-frequency tonal event, comparable to a sustained whistle at altitude combined with a trailing resonance similar to a comet passing through the upper atmosphere. This sound is not associated with command or threat, but with alignment and calibration, marking transitions within aerial systems.

Aelyra’s defining ability is referred to as Starpath Sight, a phenomenon through which she perceives and regulates all aerial movement within her domain. Within these traditions, she is described as capable of observing every active flight path simultaneously, identifying deviations, overlaps, and inefficiencies. During key astronomical events such as eclipses and solstices, she is said to recalibrate these air-lanes, aligning them with celestial reference points to maintain long-term stability.

A secondary effect associated with her presence is the appearance of a transient stellar anomaly, described as a false star visible during her descent. This marker is interpreted as both a signal and a coordinate reference, indicating active recalibration or intervention within the aerial system.

Aelyra is identified as the patron entity of high-altitude navigation practices and is associated with groups dedicated to eclipse-based flight alignment. These traditions emphasize timing, positioning, and adherence to established aerial corridors, reflecting her domain over structured movement rather than unrestricted flight. Certain elevated locations, referred to as sky-gates, are treated as fixed points within this system and are considered inviolable.

Within the broader structure of divine dragon forms, Aelyra occupies the role of oversight at altitude. Where Mantara governs maritime guidance and Tolosyr governs terrestrial adaptation, Aelyra governs the space between—ensuring that movement through the sky follows ordered pathways rather than uncontrolled ascent. As a Skyshriek Sovereign, she represents the principle that even in open air, structure must exist, and that navigation at scale requires alignment with forces beyond immediate perception.
